Our objective is to enhance construction professionals skills to achieve the objectives pointed out in the EPBD and also to accomplish NZEB requirements.

With this aim, we have selected best practices from different R&D projects and converted them into an online training course. This course cover all the building stages: design, construction, operation and maintenance and finally interaction with inhabitants.

 What are the training contents?

1. URSOS: Sustainable urban design.

  • Context and introduction.
  • Efficient design: Urban and building design.
  • URSOS software.

2. Best practices for an energy efficient construction.

  • Performance and Sustainability based approach.
  • Healthy and comfortable indoor environment.
  • Renewable resources-based products, Building materials recyclability and re-use of components.
  • Multi-materials and composites, advanced thermal insulation construction materials.
  • Electric or thermal generation and storage materials and systems, including building integrated technologies

3. Operation and maintenance of the building.

  • Controlling, servicing and maintaining building systems and components.
  • Monitoring and optimizing processes of building systems with the help of automatic equipments.
  • Creating concepts for (processes of) buildings systems or their component / sub-processes.
  • Identification, realization and checking of legal requirements for the operation of building systems (operator responsibility).
  • Monitoring operation costs and controlling.

4. IIA methodology: How to engage building inhabitants to save energy.

  • Context.
  • Training and interaction with inhabitants to avoid inefficient energy behaviours.
  • Monitoring and interaction techniques.
  • Analysis of information and visualization methods.
